History on the Lawn: UFC Freedom 250 at the White House

The UFC stages the most unusual card in its history on the White House grounds — an outdoor event tied to America 250, headlined by two title fights and a bid for a record that has never been set.

Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje tops it: the lightweight champion, 9-0 with knockouts of Volkanovski, Holloway, and Oliveira, defending against the two-time interim champ. Topuria is the model's strongest pick on the card; Gaethje is a near-5-to-1 underdog selling a "Miracle On Ice." The wild card is the venue — outdoor, D.C. heat, conditions that can flatten any favorite.

The co-main is the history shot: Alex Pereira, champion at middleweight and light heavyweight, moves to heavyweight for the interim title and a chance to be the first-ever three-division UFC champion — against Ciryl Gane, in a near-even fight where our model actually leans the underdog Gane. The 4-input stacking ensemble runs roughly ~70% (0.6986 leak-free) accuracy on the 2025-2026 holdout (n=428), with a 59% peak-drawdown caveat on the ¼-Kelly strategy. On this card it sides hard with Topuria and Ruffy, and — notably — diverges from the market on Pereira-Gane, O'Malley-Zahabi, and Lopes-Garcia. Those splits, framed as observations rather than plays, are where reading past the favorites earns its keep.
